Martin SP Lifespan 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings

Martin believes it’s SP Lifespan string brand provides the next (presumably higher) level of studio performance. They are treated with a coating that helps to repel oil, grime and dirt and slows tarnishing and corrosion, all of which diminish the quality of the sound produced by your instrument.

Martin’s SP Lifespan 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings are manufactured with bronzed steel core wire and a bronze wrap wire. All strings are treated for long-life.

SP Lifespan strings feel natural and produce tone similar to traditional bronze strings, but also provide the durability and longevity of coated strings. While I am not a big fan of coated strings because the coating tends to slightly dampen the tone of the guitar, the tone produced by SP Lifespan is so close to the tone produced by Flexible Core SP (uncoated strings) it’s difficult to tell the difference between sets.

If you are conscientious about changing strings regularly, the uncoated SPs are a great choice for most instruments. But if you tend to avoid replacing strings, it’s worth the extra cost for the coated SP Lifespan strings. Your instrument will definitely sound brighter longer.
