La Bella Vihuela de Mexico Strings

The Vihuela de Mexico, or Vihuela Mexicana, is a five-string guitar-like instrument originating from 19th-century Mexico. It is popular in Central America and typically played in mariachi groups.

Although the Vihuela de Mexico has the same name as the historic Spanish plucked string instrument, the two have little to do with each other, and are not related. The Vihuela de Mexico is more similar to the Timple Canario as both have five-strings and vaulted backs. The Vihuela de Mexico is a small, deep-bodied rhythm guitar constructed like the larger Guitarrón. It is typically played with fingers strumming open chords on the fretted part of its neck.

La Bella VM300 Vihuela de Mexico 5-string set includes: .032, .040, .028W, .032, .040
