John Pearse 80/20 Bronze Wound Acoustic Guitar Strings
Our Opinion & What We've Heard:
I tried a set of light gauge John Pearse 80/20 bronze wound strings on my 25 year-old Martin and was very pleased with the tone and longevity of the strings. I play this quitar often, so I gave them a fair chance to prove themselves. While I lean toward phosphor bronze for my acoustics, I found these 80/20s to be quite acceptable.
I’ve read through a number of reviews of the John Pearse 80/20 Bronze acoustic guitar strings and found that most professionals and casual players agree that they deliver great tone and big sound. Many consider them the best strings they have ever used. They are viewed as slightly more expensive than the big brand strings, but also well worth it. A few negative reviews site great results initially, but a dramatic fall-off in clarity after brief use. I did not have that experience and have had them on the guitar longer than normal.
I don’t hesitate to recommend these strings for bluegrass players and players that love bright bold tone.
